On October 9, I'd like to share my favourite story about John Lennon.
When John was five, his teacher asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up.
"Happy," he said.
"I don't think you understand the question," she said.
"I don't think you understand the answer," he replied.
That's lovely. And I love "Imagine."

When I saw Stevie Wonder in concert for the second time, it was on October 9, 2015, John Lennon's birthday. He sang "Imagine" but broke into tears partway through. The audience had no trouble in singing along for him. :-)

ReplyDeleteHe wasn't my favourite Beatle--Paul was--but he did write some great songs solo, and that is a good example.
