my father's birthday
doesn't hurt as it once did
nor does Father's Day
pencil sketch hangs on the wall
memory of his voice fades
Do they fade? I still hear my father fifteen years after I last heard it in an actual room
You're lucky. It's been 41 years since I heard my father's voice. I can remember exactly what he said, even dating back to when I was two, but I can't hear his voice.
